About Alexandra

Alexandra, originally from Nashville, Tennessee, has been practicing Pilates for ten years. Her first introduction to the technique was in dance class to help treat and prevent injuries to herself. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a BSc in Psychology and Dance she went to work in Nashville’s biggest reference library. She got a bit antsy in her desk chair after three years and decided to take a weekend Pilates teaching training course in Atlanta to teach part-time after library closing hours. This was the tip of the iceberg that led to a whole new career and life a long way from the South.

Keeping dance close to her heart, and craving adventure, Alexandra leaped across the pond to complete the Pilates Teacher Training Programme at Laban, in South East London. She followed her heart to Manchester after graduating in 2010, and since then has had many rewarding teaching experiences in and around greater Manchester. These range from pre/post natal classes to specific injury rehabilitation and general matwork and apparatus classes. Most recently she has been taken on as a curriculum tutor on the CAT scheme at the Lowry theatre where she teaches and mentors young adults who aspire to have careers in dance.
When Alexandra isn’t aligning and toning bodies, you might find her leaping around in a dance class, limbering up in a restorative yoga class or exploring this lovely country she now calls home.
